Melba Sue Skelton Rice

Melba Sue Skelton Rice, 80, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Friday June 9, 2017. She was a member of Bellefounte Baptist Church. Many knew Melba from her waitressing at the Maple Grove Restaurant, as well as her managing of the Walker Valley apartments for over 20 years. Melba was loved by all that knew her, and you could tell she loved life and people as soon as you met her. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Glen P. Hannah and Nona Franklin Hannah; son, Mike Skelton; and brothers, John “Pete” Hannah and Jerry Hannah.
Melba leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Renada Skelton and Ricky Skelton (Deedee); brothers, Junior Glen Hannah (Nina – Deceased), Ronnie Hannah (Brenda), and Steve Hannah (Wanda); sisters, Geneva Turner (Carson – Deceased), Glenda Clayton (Tom), Rita Hannah, and Liz Jackson (Turner); grandchildren, Kelly Wells and Randy Skelton; daughter-in-law, Lynn Skelton; as well as several great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of life service is planned for 7:00pm on Monday June 12, 2017 at the Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, with Pastor Glen Clower officiating the service.
The family will receive friends two hours prior, from 5:00pm until the 7:00pm service time, at the funeral home.
