Mary Lou Althea Long

Mary Lou Long, 71, of Crandall, GA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 31, 2020. A born again Christian, Mary Lou loved her family and spending time with them. Defining respect and independence, Mary Lou was a wonderful, supportive mother and grandmother with a very adventurous spirit. She was passionate about her job at Shiroki where she traveled to several locations doing Quality Assurance for Toyota parts. As an avid Elvis Presley fan, she collected memorabilia and traveled to Graceland several times.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Long; parents, Charlie & Ina Silvers; siblings, Opal Cantrell, Eula Stacy, Calvin Silvers; sister-in-law, Lily Silvers.

Survived by her daughter, Audra Johnston(Dwight Carroll) of Aiken, SC; granddaughters, Brittany(Erik) Simpson and Taylor Johnston of Chatsworth, GA and McKenzie (Christopher)Gravitt of Aiken, SC; great grandchildren, Brantlee, Channing, Maverick Simpson and Emilee Johnston; siblings, Bill Silvers, Ruth(Ray) Steelman; and several close nieces and nephews.


Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 11 AM- 2 PM at Little Conasauga Baptist Church in Crandall, GA, with the service to begin at 2 PM with Pastor Samuel Steelman officiating. Burial will be held at the Cloer Cemetery.
