Mary Evelyn Rollins

Mary Evelyn Rollins, 82, a resident of Cleveland, TN went to her Heavenly home on Saturday morning, July 30th, 2016 . She was born on April 18th, 1934 in Calhoun, TN a daughter of the late Gilbert & Essie Bowerman. She lived in Ringgold, GA for a number of years before returning to Cleveland to live near her daughter. Mary was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church in Ringgold, GA and attended First Baptist Church of Cleveland locally. She worked for many years at Burlington Industries until they closed operations in Cleveland. Afterwards, she worked for several years for Coppingers until her retirement. She loved interior design, travel and was an excellent cook. Every Thanksgiving, everyone looked forward to enjoying Evelyn's dressing .

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband the Honorable Judge R. F. Rollins of Ringgold, GA, three sisters Rosa G. Varnell, Mae Belle Harden and Marjorie Ann Lacy, one nephew Randall D. Lacy and her son-in-law Darryl Ownby.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory one daughter Eva Gail Shipman Ownby-Rutledge and her husband Wiley Rutledge, one grandson Kiby Ownby and his wife Libby of Energy, IL and two great grandsons Ethan Grayson Ownby and Caden Payne Ownby both also of Energy, IL. Mary is also survived by Wiley's son Wiley Aaron Rutledge and his wife Beth along with their daughter Elle Rutledge, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of her life is planned for Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN with her grandson Pastor Kirby Ownby officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlor from 1:00 PM until the 3:00 PM service time on Tuesday.
