Mary Catherine Williamson

July 6, 1946 — September 24, 2020

Mary Catherine Williamson, 74, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Thursday morning, September 24, 2020 after a lengthy illness.

She was born on July 6, 1946, in Cleveland to the late Earl Williamson, Sr. and the late Gladys Fennell Williamson.

Mary graduated from Bradley County High School in 1964. She attended the University of Tennessee- Knoxville and worked many years in Cleveland retiring from Galen Medical Group in 2010.

She was an independent woman, a great friend to many and a loving sister to her brothers. She enjoyed gathering at the Hiwassee River with those she held dear. She had numerous life long friends because of her quiet welcoming spirit, great sense of humor and generosity.

Her parents, her brother, Gary Williamson, her cherished friend, Luanne Helms, and her beloved companion, Bill White, preceded her in death.

Her brother, Earl Williamson, Jr., sister-in–law, Marie Williamson, nephews, Lewey and Aaron Williamson, survive her. Shannon and Kenny Lawson and Mary Dawn and Robbie Newberry whom she considered family also survive her.

Mary’s family would like to thank her caregivers who became her close friends at the end of her life. The family also appreciates Hospice of Cleveland for caring for Mary.

A celebration of life in honor of Mary and her brother, Gary, will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 2:00 PM at B&B Marina Pavilion, 117 Marina Dr. NW, Charleston, TN.
