Obituary

Martin Lee Hiefnar, 67, of Athens, TN passed away on April 26, 2015. He was born on May 11, 1947 to the late Jess and Flora Hiefnar. Martin was a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church. He was a sports enthusiast that loved watching all sports as well as NASCAR. He also loved bowling, playing golf and softball.

In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by one sister Dorothy Walker.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory wife of 50 years, Beverly "Mimi" Hiefnar; daughter Melinda Hiefnar; son Marty Hiefnar (Janet); sisters Melva Brown, Betty Knight, Mary O'Daniel; brother Franklin Hiefnar; grandchildren: Ruben Toro, Cody Hiefnar, Kaylyn Hiefnar, Will Hiefnar, and Jeremy Edwards.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday April 30, 2015 at Clear Springs Baptist Church located at 653 CO Road 100, Athens, TN 37303 with Rev. Darren Fansler officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at Companion Funeral Home from 5:00pm-8:00pm and on Thursday at the church from 12:00pm until the 2:00pm service time. Interment will follow the service at the Clear Springs Baptist Cemetery with Tony Walker, Marvin Walker, Jason Hiefnar, T-Alan Knight, Darrell Hamond, and Cody Hiefnar serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his truck driving friends. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society in Martin's memory.
