Martha R. Cooke

Martha R. Cooke, 98, of Cleveland, TN passed away on January 3, 2021. She was born on February 1, 1922 to the late George and Harriett Roy. Martha was a lifelong resident of Cleveland and a member of First United Methodist for more than 70 years. Carl and Martha were longtime owners and operators of Cooke’s Food Stores in Cleveland.
In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her husband Carl S. Cooke; daughter Becky Cooke Smith; brother Ben Roy; sisters Louise Snyder and Nita Robinson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Dan Cooke (Janey); sister Mildred Callaway; grandchildren: Britney Cooke (Andy Brown), Lindsey Cooke, Tyler Smith (Cait), and Eric Smith (Shannon); great grandchildren: Tristan Wagner and Jackson Brown. She is also survived by several nieces, nephew, and extended family and friends.
A private graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens where Martha will be laid to rest with her husband, Carl.
