Obituary
Marlin Edwin Swalley

Stop me if youve heard this one before.

There was this ol boy out of Independence, Kansas. He was adopted by George and Peal Swalley and grew up on their farm, where he enjoyed going up in crop dusters with local pilots who would land on the Swalley farm. That was until there was plane crash in the area and George wouldnt let him go up anymore.

He attended Independence High School where he played football and became an Eagle Scout. Soon after graduating he married his high school sweetheart, Clarice Thomas, and went to basic training. He liked to joke, Hitler shot himself when he heard Marlin Swalley was coming over.

Soon after returning from the war, Marlin worked for various Coca-Cola bottlers and traveled all over the country. His travels led to stories about almost every city in America.

Marlin is one of the few individuals who actually lived life to the fullest. He made everyone around him laugh, even when they didnt want to, and was a presence in any room he walked in. He traveled the world and never met a stranger.

He is survived by his four children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren and numerous friends, whom he loved and was very proud. Except when they would whine, he wasnt a big fan of whining.

Glad you got to see him.
