Marion Lea Murphy

Marion Lea Murphy, 71, of Cleveland TN passed away on February 21, 2020. She was born on May 10, 1948 in Cleveland, TN. She was a founding member of Mercy Baptist Church and she enjoyed teaching Sunday School at her previous church Temple Baptist Church. Marion was also an avid seamstress. She is preceded in death by her parents Chester A. Mysinger and Eunice M. Gates Mysinger; her husband Charles Murphy and brother in law Bobby Black; She is survived by daughter Lillian Morfield (William), son Michael Murphy (Becky); grandchildren Amber Morfield, Angel Murphy, Aaron Murphy and two great- grandchildren Wiley Murphy and Larissa Nicole Murphy; sister Peggy Black Several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Companion Funeral Home on Saturday February 29, 2020 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday March 1, 2020 at Mercy Baptist Church in Ooltewah with Pastor Greg Banther and Pastor Wayne Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 3:00pm before the service. Interment will take place at Johnston Cemetery following the service.
