Marcella Joy Cheek

Marcella Joy Cheek, 68, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, October 30, 2015. She was a member of Good News Baptist Church in Cohutta, Georgia. She worked as a lab tech at Life Circle Womens Health. Most of all, she was known for being a loving wife and mother. She will be surely missed by all that ever knew her.



She is preceded in death by her parents, Geneva and Oscar Maples, and her brother, Sonny Maples.



Marcella leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 23 years, Johnny Cheek, her children, Monica McKamey, Lisa Hamby, Gwen Compton, and Jeremy Cheek, grandchildren, Allana Sawder, Caitlin Walsh, Hannah Hamby, Rebekah Hamby, Jonathan Compton, Jared Compton, and Joby Cheek, and three great-grandchildren, Attikus, Maxton, and Zoe. She is also survived by numerous extended family and friends, and one special cousin, Dea Etta Graham.



A celebration of life funeral service is planned for 1:00pm on Monday November 2, 2015 at East Cleveland Baptist Church, located at 1145 Arnold Street NE, with Pastor Clay Sutton and Brother Duane Hamby officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Fort Hill Cemetery.



A visitation period will be held from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Sunday November 1st, 2015 at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW.
