Malissa Luanne White Helms

Malissa Luanne White Helms, 57, lost her courageous year and a half battle with Pancreatic cancer on Monday, October 15, 2018 with her family by her side. What a warrior she was until the end. She was a free spirit and loved going to the mountains and spending time with her family and friends on the Hiwassee River. She was naturally creative in arts, crafts, decorating and organizing. She had a heart of gold and was a friend to all, willing to help whenever needed. She had history of rescuing dogs and leaves behind her beloved Opposum and Buddy. She was a 1979 graduate of Bradley High School and longtime employee at Advanced Photographic Solutions.
Luanne was preceded in death by her father, Bill “Bug” White; step-father, Vaughn Horn; grandparents, Mary Frances and Julian Parks, Kerm and Dorothy White; special aunt, Katie Parks Sizer.
Her memory will live forever in the hearts of her mother, Julianne Parks Horn; sisters, Shannon (Kenny) Lawson, Mary Dawn (Robbie) Newberry; brother, Jeff White (Kim); cherished nieces and nephews, Natalie Newberry, Taylor White, Carson White, Ashton White; her loving companion, Gary Cox who was with her every step of the way; and her girlfriend, Kathy Hyde Simonds who gave her love, support and laughs.
There will be a celebration of life memorial gathering Saturday from 4-6pm Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Companion Funeral Home: Cleveland Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family asks you to consider memorials be made to your favorite charity in her honor. Her family would like to thank her co-workers at APS for all their love and support throughout her sickness, TN Oncology for their kind care and Hearth Hospice nurse Lora Baker for being there when we needed her.
