Madeline Ryder Stiles

Madeline Ryder Stiles, 84, of Cleveland, TN, passed away unexpectantly on February 12, 2022, with her loving family by her side.

She was born and raised in Copperhill, TN where she lived until her marriage in 1956. After relocating for a few years to Atlanta, GA she and her husband then moved to Turtletown, TN where they raised their two daughters. A move in 1972 to Cleveland, TN is where she made her final home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurston and Louise Dixon Ryder of Turtletown, TN and sister Shirley Huffman of Rex, GA.

Madeline is survived by Hoyt Stiles, her devoted and loving husband of 65 years; daughters, Vicki Stiles Wilson (Ronald) of Cleveland, TN and Patti Stiles Sutton, of Copperhill, TN; sister Delinda Housley (Bill) of Woodstock, GA and brother Ronnie Ryder of Tallapoosa, GA. She was blessed to be “Mammaw Madeline” to her 7 grandchildren, Jeremy Wilson, Amber Warren (Stacy), Zachary Wilson (Afton), Holly Robinson (Brian), Hunter Guy (Brittany), Adam Guy, and Peyton Daniels, and 11 great grandchildren.

In her early marriage, Madeline was very active in her church where you might find her serving as VBS director, Sunday School teacher or lifting her beautiful voice in song as the Choir Director. She retired from Coppinger Color Lab after several years, co-workers became friends and remained close to her until the end of her life. Her main joy in life was being a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She loved to read and always had at least one or two books going at the same time, sewing, and camping with family. She loved to collect teddy bears and tea pots.

Madeline leaves behind a legacy of love for the many who knew her over her lifetime. Her beautiful smile will live in our hearts and minds forever.

Madeline’s family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday February 16, 2022 at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held at 1pm following the service with burial to follow at Tasso United Methdoist Cemetery.
