Luther Kalor Hogan

Luther Kalor Hogan of Birchwood, TN passed away on December 5, 2019. He was born on September 29, 1944 to the late Jesse Hogan and Martha Smith Hogan. Luther, known as “Bud” to many was a lifelong resident of this area. Luther owned and operated a Hamilton County School bus for 47 years. He loved racing of any kind, especially NASCAR and Dirt Track Racing. He was also a fan of the Tennessee Vols, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons.
In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by his son Luther “Peewee” Hogan; brothers: Joe, Bobby, and Johnny Hogan; sister Mary Cagle and his beloved dog, “Gizmo.”
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 37 years, Sherri Hogan; children: Steven Hogan, Jake Hogan (Debra), and Scottie Hogan (Daphne); siblings: Judy Coleman, Betty Pritchard, and Benny Hogan; grandchildren: Brad Hogan, Tyler Hogan, Kaylor Hogan, Hunter Hogan, Chasity Hogan, Gabrielle Anderson, and Daniel Anderson. In addition to these he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends and special niece Samantha Harris.
The family would like to give special thanks to Tennessee Oncology: Dr. Womack, Tina Carden, Kathy, Kim and LeAnn and Avalon Hospice and nurses Jackie Conway and Julie Holman.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Saturday December 14, 2019 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00pm at the funeral home following visitation.
