Luke Michael Butler

March 20, 1983 — October 31, 2022

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Luke Michael Buter – also known by his family and friends as Gator. The actual circumstances of his death and when he left this earth remain unknown. It is believed by his family that he passed in the fall of 2019, around the time he was reported missing. Michael was born in Bakersfield, California on March 20, 1983, to Luther Butler and Nancy Moore.

The early years of his childhood were spent in California, but his family moved to Vonore, Tennessee before he became a teenager. Once in Vonore, he found his love for nature and spending time outdoors. Michael loved the woods, lakes, and rivers. He enjoyed time hiking, fishing, and camping. Michael will be remembered as a true Tennessee country man by heart, always with a beaming smile and his profound love for God.

Michael was a loving son, brother, father, and the coolest uncle. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his four children; Michael Butler, Alexandre Butler, Nancy Butler, and Amelia Butler Carroll; grandmother, Susie Eckelberry; mother, Nancy Moore; significant other and the mother of his two daughters, Catherine Carroll; siblings, Harmony Garcia, John Moore, and Terry Harris; along with several nephews and nieces that will miss him greatly.

His family will announce services at a later date.

You are invited to share a personal memory of Michael or your condolences with his family at his online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home of Athens and the Cody family are honored to assist the family with these arrangements.
