Loy Mae Baxter

Loy Mae Baxter, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, March 10, 2022.
Loy was born May 1, 1929 to the late Grady and Alma Frazier Rose. She loved to sing and fellowship with her church family at Boanerges Baptist Church where she was a member for over 56 years. She worked many years at American Uniform Company in Cleveland and Conasauga, TN. Her greatest loves and joys in life were in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, B.H. Baxter, sisters Evelyn Vestal and Frances Woody, brothers Charles Rose and Kenneth Rose, brother-in-law Eddie Hooker, grandson Trampus Baxter, and great-grandson Taggen Malone.

She leaves a large family behind to cherish her memory. Children: Judy (Jerry) Dill, Ben (Earlene) Baxter, Karen Moore, Tim Baxter, and Lisa (Jeff) Roach. Grandchildren: Jeremy (Shannon) Dill, Jammie Dill, Brandi (Terry) Gengler, Andrew Baxter, Crystal Jones, Misty (Garin) Goddard, and Benjamin (Karissa) Baxter. Great-grandchildren: Stetson Gunnoe, Allie Dill, Karly Gengler, Alyx Dill, Jaylin Grant, Anna Dill, Paige Roach, and John Taylor “JT”. Siblings: sisters Billie (Jerry) Wilson, Mary Jo (D.A.) Sherlin, Connie (Frank) Redman, Polly Hooker, and brother Jimmy (Cathy) Rose.

Boanerges Baptist Church will have a celebration of life remembrance on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 4-6 pm in the church fellowship hall. This will be a time for the family and friends to share memories and stories and love with each other. The family will have a private graveside service at her request at a later time with Frank Redman speaking.

Flowers can be sent to the church if desired or, in lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the church cemetery fund in her memory.
