Lorraine B. Sherlin

November 7, 1985 — June 15, 2020

Lorraine (Raine) Sherlin, 34, of Charleston, Tennessee ended her battle with cancer at her home Monday June 15th 2020 while surrounded by loved ones.
Lorraine was born on Nov. 7th 1985 in Bradenton, Florida.
Superman once said, “I think a hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles…”
Lorraine was a hero in herself throughout her journey. She put on a brave face. She has always been a woman of strength yet forthright in natural. Someone once said, “she is simple, she either liked you or she didn’t” and that made her who she was and why everyone loved her. People seemed to gravitate towards Lorraine and over her 34 years she accumulated many friends.
She loved her family to the core. She was thankful for her Godly heritage and loved to hear her parents pray and was confident they were always praying for her. Lorraine loved to hear her sister sing under the anointing of God. She enjoyed Tennessee football and wings with her brother. The sound of her laughter was contagious but nonexistent.....the family is still waiting to hear it. Her family was the most important thing to her and the rock she leaned on.
In the words of Lorraine “I got this.” She truly did get it……she got heaven!
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Albert Hargis, grandparents Elmer and Bea Rhoden, and cousin/best friend Tim Hargis.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory a daughter, Leah (Punk) Sherlin of Cleveland, TN; Parents, Leroy and Brenda Rhoden of Cleveland, TN; Sister, Tiffany (Dustin) Swafford of Cleveland, TN and their children Thomas, Jacob, Makayla, & Sarah Grace; Brother, Windell Rhoden and sister-in-law Chellie Rhoden of Cleveland, TN and their children Parker and Paisley; Her partner, Karen Brotherton of Charleston, TN and her children Travis, Kelsey, and Xavier.
Family will be receiving friends and family for viewing on Friday, June 19th 2020 from 5-9pm at River of Life Holiness Church. A homegoing service will be held Saturday, June 20th 2020 at 1pm at the church. Burial will be held at Rhoden cemetery at 1259 Mt. Zion Rd. Georgetown, TN. 37336. Pallbearers will be Windell Rhoden, Alstin Hargis, Thomas Swafford, Jacob Swafford, Caleb Aleman, Travis Brotherton, Parker Rhoden and Xavier Wilcox.
