Lloyd Roscoe Bowers

April 15, 1951 — July 24, 2022

Lloyd Roscoe Bowers, 71, died peacefully at home with his wife, Ann and granddaughter, Autumn at his side on July 24, 2022 after an extended illness. He was born on April 15, 1951 in Sweetwater, TN to the late Roy A. Bowers and Dorothy M. Bowers of Antioch, CA. Lloyd’s family lived in Niota and Athens prior to moving to California in 1965. He attended Amador High School in California until he decided to join the Marines in 1969. He went to Marine Corp Recruit Depot boot camp in San Diego, CA. After boot training, he went to Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA for additional training prior to serving his tour in Vietnam in 1971.

Along with his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Trotter of Athens, TN.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ann Bowers; his two daughters, Tonya La Mar of Forest Grove, Oregon, and Sherri Conant of Copperopolis, California; his son, Todd Bowers of Kingman, Arizona; his nine grandchildren and his six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Roy L. (Janice) Bowers of Antioch, CA and Larry W. (Linda) Bowers of Hanover, MD; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Lloyd loved to make model cars and race them with his brothers, Lee and Larry. He was also an avid roller skater in high school. Lloyd worked at the local skating rink where he was the rink guard in charge of safety. In addition, he was an avid fisherman.

A Celebration of Life will take place in October.
