Linda Jeanette Ball

May 24, 1949 — April 27, 2017

Linda Jeanette Boles Ball, 67, passed away on Thursday, April 27th, after a lengthy illness. She was stubborn, and fought hard till the end. Surrounded by loved ones at the time of her passing, there was not a dry eye in the place. Originally from Kentucky, she moved to Cleveland as a child and attended Bowman Hills SDA Church. She was a graduate of Charleston High School, and attended CSCC and UTC. Linda was the daughter of Samuel and Edna Boles, and one of six children. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy” Ball, and by her siblings, Sue Grider, Wanda Parker, Samuel Boles, and a beloved nephew, Jeremy Crooks.
Linda is survived by her two sisters, Judy Raburn, and Rachel Boles, and by her children, William Earl Ball III(Michelle), Tony Ball, and Layla Williams (Tom). In addition, she is survived by six amazing granddaughters, Kayla, Brianna, Valan, Natalie, Olivia, and Isabelle, and alittle dog, Atilla. She lived for her granddaughters, and was convinced that they are all gifted geniuses. Which, we all agree, they are.
Linda made a great impact on many who knew her. No matter how much, or how little she had, there was always a spot for you at her table. She loved to cook, and cared for many strays, both human and animal. She loved to eat, and held the family title of most slices of pizza eaten in one sitting, 17 to be exact, at the old Pizza Inn. Lindawas a tiny force of nature who had a wicked sense of humor, could bring back the most shriveled plant with her green thumb, would read everything that she could get her hands on, and watch the Weather Channel 24/7. Our mother would make even the most mundane task an adventure, loved to sing, dance, write, and draw. She was a gifted artist.
Visitation is planned for 5pm Thursday, May 4th, 2017, at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road, NW. A Celebration of Life Service, with Pastor Kenneth Purdie officiating, is planned for 7pm. In lieu of flowers, and given that Linda was such a patron of the Cleveland Public Library, donations can be made in her name to the Cleveland Public Library.

You are invited to share a personal memory of Linda or your condolences with her family at her online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral and Cremation Service and the Cody family are honored to assist the Ball family with these arrangements.
