Leon Keith Smith

June 3, 1958 — December 28, 2021

Leon Keith Smith, 63, of Birchwood, TN, Ducktown, TN, and Dublin, GA passed away on December 28, 2021. He was born on June 3, 1958 in Macon, GA to the late Claude Leon Smith and Wynelle Mimbs Smith. Keith’s true passion in his life was his faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a devoted man of God who studied His word for hours each day. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Keith was a pastor of many churches throughout his 43 years in the ministry. He served in many cities and towns all through GA and TN, alongside his wife, Ava. He preached God’s word, played piano, sang in the choir and in small groups. He also was choir director and led various youth ministries over the years.

Keith and Ava both loved to take road trips in their van. They were passionate about the western states and also the northeast in the fall. Keith loved “tinkering,” woodwork, gardening, hiking, camping, and raising chickens. He loved anything outdoors.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 44 years and High School Sweetheart Ava Dale Smith; sister Laurie Scott; children: Andrew Keith Smith (Jemmie), Stephanie Dale Silvani (Dominic), and David Michael Smith (Shannon); grandchildren: Mikaelyn, Kaleb, Jura, Zealyn, and Sylvan. He also leaves behind his beloved Grandpuppies.

A celebration of Keith’s life will be held at 730pm on Thursday December 30th at Westwood Baptist Church with visitation prior from 5pm until 730pm. He will be laid to rest at Minter Baptist Church Cemetery in East Dublin, GA on Saturday January 1st. A funeral ceremony will be held at Minter Baptist Church at 2pm with visitation from 12pm until the service.

You are invited to share a personal memory of Keith or your condolences with his family at his online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com.
