Leland Ray Seaborn

On Thursday June 24, 2021 Leland R. Seaborn, age 72, went home to meet his Precious Savior in Heaven. When he left this world he ran through the pearly gates for a loving reunion with his father, mother and nephew Bryce. He was born August 2, 1948 in Cleveland, TN. For his whole life, he was a faithful and active member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church. He was very involved in the church, including the youth choir, Awana’s, Vacation Bible School, Royal Ambassadors and the XYZs. He was often asked to provide his Christian testimony publicly and he never hesitated to do so. From the age of 18 till he reached age 57 he worked for the National Forest Service. Many school children in the county got to meet him as Smokey the Bear or Woodsy the Owl. Leland is survived by brothers, Donald J. Seaborn (Jane), Arden D. Seaborn (Wendy) and sister, Wanda Rambaum (Bill). Although Leland had no children, he doted over all of his six nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews. Leland had a big heart for anything having to do with his family and he always wanted to know the details of what they were doing. He was an avid Braves fan, but most of all he loved his VOLs. Lee had a great sense of humor. He could laugh at himself when he was the butt of a joke, but he could dish it out too. Throughout his Life, Leland was all smiles and a friend to everyone he met. The family could not go anywhere without someone stopping him to talk. When he walked into Hardee’s the ladies behind the counter would ask “Hi, Leland do you want your usual?”
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on Tuesday June 29, 2021 at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church in Cleveland TN, with Rev. Sammy Hooker officiating over the service immediately following. Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Leland’s memory to Clingan Ridge Baptist Church building fund.
