Larry V. Blankenship

Larry Blankenship, 66, a lifelong resident of Old Fort, TN passed away on Monday evening, April 25th, 2016 at a Chattanooga hospice. Larry was born in Ducktown, TN on March 3, 1950 a son of the late Ray & Odessa Blankenship. He was an honorable discharge veteran of the United States Army after faithfully serving his country. He was awarded the National Defense Service Metal and Sharp Shooter Metal. Larry was very gifted with his hands and could make or fix just about anything.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by two brothers Harold Blankenship and Gerald Blankenship.
Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters Amy Arthur and her fiancé Harry Mullenix. and Tonya Goins and her husband Gregg, four grandchildren Mason, Ashley, Tyler and Michael, three sisters Joann Blankenship, Patsy Blankenship and Carolyn Blankenship, one brother Bruce Blankenship, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Thursday evening, April 28th, 2016 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Johnny Sosbee and Don White officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time in the funeral home Parlor.
Interment will be on Friday morning, April 29th, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Dill Cemetery in Old Fort, TN with his family and friends serving as pallbearers. Josh Brown will serve as Honorary Pallbearer. The committal service will conclude with Military Honors for Larry's service to our country.
