Larry Franklin

Franklin, Lawrence Edward – age 79 of Cleveland, TN passed in peace surrounded by family on Sunday, April 4, 2021. He left a lasting legacy and will be deeply missed and cherished always. Larry was born April 7, 1941 in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was a follower of Jesus Christ and was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church in Cleveland, Tennessee. Larry was preceded in death by mother, Elsie Roberts and his beloved wife Patricia Franklin.

Larry was a dedicated husband and father first and foremost. He and his wife, Pat, were deeply devoted to each other and spent a lifetime by each other’s side. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Marie Corps. In addition, Larry was a dedicated lifetime employee of Westvaco until his retirement. He spent many hours serving and volunteering in the special needs community. Larry loved dressing up as Santa Claus during the holidays and spreading Christmas joy to all he met. He was especially fond of his dog, Teddy, beach trips, and boating.

He was a faithful husband of 61 years to Pat; a loving father to son Darryl (Robin) Franklin of Summerville, SC; son Scott (Jeanne) Franklin of Cleveland, TN; a loyal grandfather to his four grandchildren, Nicole (Ryan) Campbell of Summerville, SC, Becca (Dawjr) Wood of Summerville, SC, Katie (Wes) Anderson of Cleveland, TN, Bradley (Kenzie) Franklin of Cleveland, TN; a delighted great grandfather to six great grandchildren, Emma Wood, Aubrey Wood, Gaines Campbell, Frederick Wood, Kesid Wood, and Kai Campbell and two more great grandsons on the way; a brother-in-law to Ross Lee Humphries; and countless friends.

Please join us for a celebration of his life on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 4:00 PM at North Cleveland Baptist Church, 2815 North Ocoee Street, Cleveland, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Adoration Home Health and Hospice of Cleveland at 2765 Executive Park Dr NW, Cleveland, TN 37312.
