Kinsey Elizabeth Green

September 10, 2001 — February 20, 2020

Kinsey Elizabeth Green, 18, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away, surrounded by family and friends, on February 20, 2020 and was greeted with open arms by her Heavenly Father, her grandaddy, her grandpa, her uncle Robert, and all her family and friends in Heaven.

Kinsey was born, in her typical unconventional way, on September 10, 2001 to Cathy and James Green. She was delivered by her father in the backseat of an Isuzu Rodeo going down I-75 in Kennesaw, GA while her Aunt Rachel drove them all to the hospital at only 105 mph.

She went to kindergarten at Boston Elementary in Woodstock, GA until her family moved to Sparks, NV in 2007. She was in kindergarten there for one week at Van Gorder Elementary before they moved her up to first grade. There she met one of her best friends, Ashley Eubanks. Kinsey and Ashley were born at the same time, on the same day, on opposite coasts.

She went to High Desert Montessori Middle School in Reno, where she met another best friend, Marla Templeton. She and Marla went cross country to visit each other several times after we moved to Chattanooga in 2016.

In spring 2016 Kinsey auditioned for entry into the theater arts department at Chattanooga High School Center for Creative Arts and started high school there that fall. There she met another best friend, Audrey Faith Curtis, who took Kinsey with her and her family on a seven-day cruise in December. Kinsey was outspoken, passionate, and entertained others with jokes and frequent performances in several school plays. She received the Excellence in Acting – Eleventh Grade award.

Kinsey was heavily involved with her young women’s group at church. There she met another best friend Camille Berthelson, who she went on a pioneer trek with. During that time, she completed Personal Progress to earn her Young Women’s Medallion. Then she reread the Book of Mormon and complete forty hours of service to earn her Honor Bee Medallion. She loved girls camp, which she attended seven times. And she used her most recent time to help and mentor several of the younger young women.

Kinsey is survived by her mother and father: Cathy and James Green. Siblings: Madison Nicole (& Jason Mark) Taylor, James Thomas Green, and Benjamin Monroe Green. Grandmothers: Ann “Ni” Green, and Betty Jo “Grandma” Burgess. And multiple Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her Grandfathers: James T. “Grandaddy” Green, and Smokey “Grandpa” Burgess. And her Uncle Robert.

Kinsey's Visitations will be Friday, February 28th from 6p to 8p and Saturday, February 29th from 11a to 12:30p. Her memorial will be Saturday, February 29th at 1p. All three will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 3067 Ooltewah Ringgold Rd., Ooltewah, TN 37363. All family and friends who wish to celebrate Kinsey's life are invited.
