Kaye White Burns

Kaye White Burns, 92, died unexpectedly but peacefully Tuesday evening November 28, 2017 in Cleveland, TN. Her devotion to her family and her firm love of Jesus sustained her and ultimately gave her peace.
Kaye is survived by her son Alan Burns (wife Faye) and two daughters Beth Burns and Joanna Umphrey (all of Cleveland). Her grandchildren include Ashley Fox (husband Chris), Andrea Moore (husband Josh) and Autumn Ferrebee (husband Tony) and five great grandchildren. She also is survived by sister, Anne Ruffner (Los Alamitos, California), brother, Robert White (Marietta, Georgia), and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by former husband, Wilson Burns (Smyrna, Georgia) and brothers Lewis, Watson, Frank, and Guy White (all of Georgia).
Kaye was born on May 5, 1925 in Atlanta, Georgia to Walter and Lura White. She married Wilson Burns, a Navy sailor. They travelled the world until his retirement and then settled in Smyrna, Georgia. Her children remember her as a loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Kaye was kind and passionate about helping others. She especially enjoyed her friends and adopted family at the North Cleveland Towers.
A one hour visitation at 1pm and memorial service at 2pm is scheduled for Saturday, December 2 at Companion Funeral Home. Kaye will be buried at Hillcrest Cemetery immediately following the memorial service. Chaplain Tim Roberts of Signature Healthcare will officiate the ceremony.
