Kathryn Rice Ball

Kathryn Rice Ball passed away peacefully at the age of 97. She was born on June 20, 1920 in Ocoee, TN, the daughter of Oliver Wayne Rice and Pearl Cate Rice.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joe W. Ball; her brothers Dr. James G. Rice, Wayne Felix Rice, Harold Rice, and Oliver W. Rice, Jr.; and sister, Jewell Rice Nicholson.
She is survived by daughters Katy Jo Tippens (Jimmy) and Donna Marie Casteel (Ben); grandchildren Jamie Tippens Slagle (Steven), Joe M. Thomas (Melanie), and Kristin Tippens Hughes (Bill); and great-grandchildren William R. Slagle and Owen J. Thomas; sister, Mildred Rice Broxton of Pensacola, FL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College and a member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church.
She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, cooking, decorating her home, and spending time with family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on Tuesday January 2, 2018 at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311.
A celebration of life funeral service will follow the visitation, beginning at 3:00pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Terry Bowden officiating the service.
Following the service, Ms. Kathryn will be laid to rest in the Cedar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dixie Day Spay, McCracken Kitty Kat Rescue, or Cedar Springs Cemetery maintenance fund.
