Kathleen Ann Sefcik

Kathleen Ann Sefcik, 72, of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday December 15, 2018 surrounded by her family at at a local hospital. A native of Merrill, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Orlin Folkedahl and the late Fern Krueger Gulke. She was a graduate of Wisconsin Academy, Hinsdale School of Nursing and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She was a member of Waterville Baptist Church and enjoyed serving in several areas of ministry over the years. She was raised in the Seventh Day Adventist faith. She enjoyed sunrises, the ocean, gardening, quilting, antique hunting, gift giving, traveling with friends and time with family.
Her 40+ year career as a registered nurse and administrator, which began in Florida and continued in Tennessee, included hospital floor nursing, ICU, ER nurse supervisor, and specialization in geriatrics via home health and hospice. Beloved and respected by patients, colleagues and employees, friends said of her she never asked of anyone what she would not do herself.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Volm.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, George; daughter, Teresa Sefcik of Chattanooga; son, Glen Sefcik of Pensacola, FL; sisters, Sandra (Ken)Thiede, of Waterford, WI; Susie (Kevin) O'Day of Merrill, WI; Nancy Folkedahl, of West Bend, WI, and their families, including twelve beloved nieces and nephews and their children.
The funeral will be held at 12 PM on Friday, December 21 at Waterville Baptist Church with the Reverend Coby Goins officiating. Reverend Joe Brooks will also speak. The family will receive friends at 10:30 to 12 PM prior to the service. A lunch reception will be held immediately following at the church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Processional will depart from Waterville Baptist Church at 2:30PM with George Sefcik, Glen Sefcik, Kevin O'Day, Cian O'Day, Brett Thiede and Chuck Volm serving as pallbearers.
