March 10, 1961 - July 27, 2018
Karen passed in the morning in her South Brainerd home from endometrial cancer. Karen was a strong woman who'd defeated this cancer three times in four years, only to have it return this year in force.
She was a loving mother, a passionate artist and writer, and a caring sister and friend to everyone who knew her. Some of her favorite things were traveling with her boyfriend, Bob Vallone, writing poetry, and baking delicious recipes for her friends and family. If you were lucky enough to have had one of her wonderful confections, then you know you were lucky enough to be considered her friend.
She was met in the afterlife by her father, Gene "Buck" King, and her mother Norma Gene Hash. Karen was survived by her two children Drew (Keisha) Holman and Lindsey Ellis; her siblings Kathy (Craig) Underhill , David (Debbie) King and Brent (Brandy) King as well as many other family members who will miss her dearly.
A small memorial service will be held on Saturday August 4, 2018 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland TN.
In leiu of flowers, the family requests that any gifts be donated to the research of cures and treatments for endometrial cancer. It's our sincere hope that no one else ever have to lose someone they love so much to this disease.
