Karen E. Sanders

Karen Elaine Watson Sanders, 74, of Riceville, TN, went to be with the Lord, January 14, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born October 19, 1948, to the late Ernest W. Watson & Hattie G. Watson. Karen was a devoted wife and loving grandmother.

She was a member of Mineral Park Baptist Church. Karen enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, James Vernon Watson and son, Samuel David Sanders.

Survived by her loving husband, Roy T. “Tip” Sanders; daughter, Rebekah Elizabeth Jones; grandson, Tipton David Jones (Shelby) and granddaughter, Katherine Anne Jones; great-grandchildren, Tiberious James Jones, Lilah Grace Jones, Garry Thomas Jones, and Twila Elizabeth Shea Jones; special adopted daughter, Nannette Burk-Ivey.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, 12:00 PM, at Mineral Park Baptist Church, 7134 White Oak Valley Circle, McDonald, TN, Pastor Ronnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Colwell Baptist Church Cemetery, Epworth, GA.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 3:00 PM-7:00 PM, at Companion Funeral Home, Cleveland, TN. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, at Mineral Park Baptist Church, from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, prior to the service.
