June Cecilia Nolt Spratlin

March 22, 1946 — March 6, 2021

It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of June Cecilia Nolt Spratlin, announce her peaceful passing to be with the Lord. She was 74 years old. She was the wife of Raymond Spratlin of Cleveland, Tennessee. June was born in March 1946 in Lennoxtown Castle, Stirlingshire, Scotland. She was the first child of Frederick and Cecilia Nolt of Romford, Essex, England. In 1968 at the age of 21, she married her husband in Havering London, a US Airforce Member stationed in Wethersfield. Her and her husband lived in Braintree, Essex, England, before she immigrated to the United States in 1968 and took residence in Hollywood, Florida. The pair raised three children, Steven, Melanie, and Brigitte, and moved to Cleveland, Tennessee, where they resided for 44 years.

June was a skilled artisan, who not only could paint, sew, and craft most anything, but also had a great passion for knitting beautiful children’s sweaters and hats. Her sweaters and hats (Nannaboggins) have been enjoyed mostly by her grandchildren, but her hats have also been sent all over the world to needy children. She was a member of the Cleveland Creative Arts Guild for many years. June also had a passion for crosswords and was often found at the kitchen table at night completing the latest crossword in the Cleveland Daily Banner. June was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church in Cleveland, Tennessee. She recently became an American citizen.

June was preceded in death by her father, Frederick Nolt, and her mother, Cecilia Thomas Nolt. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Spratlin; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Angela Spratlin of Arizona; daughter, Melanie Moore of Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law Brigitte and Dave Donlon of Germany; five grandchildren, John, Jacob, Cecilia, Ian, and Maximilian; and sisters Sheila Brown and Deborah Connolly, both of England.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest at First Lutheran Church.
You are invited to share a personal memory of June or your condolences with her family at her online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral & Cremation Service and the Cody family are honored to assist the Spratlin family with these arrangements.
