Joseph "Joe" Moats

Obituary

Joseph Joe Moats, 56, a resident of Old Fort, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday morning, May 7th, 2015 at his home. Joe was known for his love for gospel music and was a dedicated singer and choir director in a few local churches. He also loved to spend his time on the water fishing, but above all, the center of his life revolved around The Lord, and his faith only grew stronger in the trials he faced in this life. He only saw hope and joy when he received his promotion to go be with The Lord.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ruth Moats, as well as his daughter, Carrie Moats.

Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 10 years Sonya Miller Moats; his daughter Katie Moats; his step-daughter April Reeder; his stepson Colton (Tekoa) Reeder; grandchildren Tyler Moats, Kylee Moats, Noah Moats, Elizah Welch, James Lewis, Kylie Lewis, and Aiden Reeder; sister Cindy Ellis; brothers Randy (Cindy) Moats and Chuck Moats as well as several nieces and nephews and numerous other extended family and friends.

A celebration of life is planned for 7:00PM on Sunday May 10th, 2015 in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, Tennessee 37311, with Pastor Matthew Harris officiating. A visitation period will be held 3 hours prior from 4:00PM until the 7:00PM service time.
