Jonathon D. Sivley

May 13, 1989 — February 9, 2023

Jonathon Dewayne Sivley, 33 passed away on February 9th, 2023, in his Cleveland residence. He is preceded by his father Troy Sivley and Grandfather John Simmons. Survivors include Kim Simmons Keller (Don) and sister Michaela Sivley Ortiz (Jesus), niece/God-daughter Mya Ortiz, Grandmother Jane Cofer Visage (Paul) and his most cherished relationship, his son Taven Lee Sivley and stepdaughter Naleigh Thomas, his aunt Mary Ellen Folkner (Dan) and a host of many other cousins and close family friends.

Jonathan attended Bradley Central High School where he wrestled and played football. After high school, he attended King’s College where he was a collegiate wrestler but eventually transferred to Middle Tennessee State University.

Jonathon was a trout fisherman that loved any activity that included him being outside. He loved music, reading and laughing but most all he loved his family, especially his mother. He loved to watch his niece play basketball, watch college wrestling and cheer on the Buffalo Bills with his son. He was quirky, big hearted and never judged another soul. He loved to experience new cultures, music, and food. This led him to his best friend and brother-in-law Jesus. Jon claimed he had a superpower of being able to pick the best restaurant or movie, he would always pick a dive or quirky film for our family to watch. However, this superpower was connected to something much more fruitful than he realized. He championed the overlooked, places and even people. The ones that the world disregards or has forgotten. That is the spirit of Jon-bear that will live forever in our hearts.

The family will be accepting visitors Saturday February 11, 2023, from 10 a.m-12 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church located in Cleveland, Tennessee. A memorial service will follow at 12 p.m. in the Chapel.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Miracle Lake Recovery Center located in Etowah, Tennessee.

Jonathon was a resident of this facility and during this season he cultivated a relationship with Jesus Christ. Jonathon was transparent about his struggle with addiction, therefore in his honor we ask that this pain never go in vain. If you are an addict, please find help and let your family know you are okay. If you are the loved one of an addict, please do not give up. Give those second chances, even if they tally up to a million. Please continue to pray for our family as we find a way to navigate each day through this unimaginable grief.
