Johnny Franklin Marshall

Johnny Franklin Marshall, 80, lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away April 22, 2023, at a local hospital, surrounded by his family. He was of the Baptist faith. Johnny worked at Collins Chair Company and later at Magic Chef until he retired.

He loved to garden and travel to the beach. Johnny still played his old-style country music on his record player. He loved eating out at his favorite restaurants where he had friends. Johnny looked at this world in a light of humor. He watched Andy Griffith and Gunsmoke every day.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Rose Marshall; brother, Don Marshall; sisters, Dorothy Dixon, Pauleen Verner, Billie Turner, and Juanita Marshall; sons-in-law, Ellis Laughter and Jonathan Price.

Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Alice Elizabeth White Marshall; children, Julie (Ellis), (Billy) Laughter, Ledford, Robin (Jimmy) Cooley, Tammy (Jonathan) Price, John (Natasha) Marshall, Buffy Marshall, Brian (Sherry) Marshall, and Angel(Aaron) Walsh; grandchildren, Ellis (America) Laughter, Jr., David Ledford, Brittany Raines, Brandon (Kim) Cooley, Ashley Crittenden, Anthony Price, Brittany Buckner, LeeAnn Marshall, Cody Marshall, Nikkie Marshall, Josh Davis, Brittany Nichols, Mecalah Walsh, Tyler Walsh, and Eli Walsh; several great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyne Wilson; sister-in-law, Anna Marshall and Vickie Buckner; all of his Rolling Brook Kids, plus, Amy Scoggins, The Mashburns, the Proctor’s, Jones boy’s, Adams Wrights, Calfee’s ,Weather’s, Kilgore’s, Thompsons, Ledford’s, Murphy’s, Shutt’s, Davis’s, and the Wooten’s. The Coile family who owned our neighborhood store.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM-3:00 PM, Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Companion Funeral Home, followed by the service in the chapel at 3:00 PM. Pastor Sam White officiating. Interment will be held at Land’s Chapel Cemetery, Englewood, TN, 222 Burger Branch Road, Englewood, TN 37329. Pallbearers will be Brandon Cooley, Anthony Price, E.J. Laughter, Tyler Walsh, Eli Walsh, and Dakota Cooley.
