John "Giggy" Franklin Bivens

May 31, 1942 — October 23, 2018

John Franklin “Giggy” Bivens, 76, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN went peacefully into the arms of Jesus. Giggy was an avid bowler as well as a “better than average Golfer”. He and Susan had only had fur babies which they loved as children. Giggy served his country proudly in the National Guard. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents: John Henry and Charlotte Kerr Bivens, brother: Billy Carroll Bivens.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 53 years: Susan Lawson Bivens, along with their many fur babies, siblings: Robert E. Bivens and wife Denise, Steve Bivens and wife Penelope Styles, along with special golf buddy: Fred Brown, nieces and nephews: Chris, Mike, Kellye, Karen, and Brian along with several more extended family.
The family held a private graveside and Giggy has been interred at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday November 4, 2018 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at the Museum Center at Five Points.
The family asks that in lieu of sending flowers for Giggys service, please send flowers to the nursing facility of your choosing to brighten up the day of someone who might need it. Also if you would like to donate to another cause please make donations to the John and Charlotte Bivens Scholarship Fund at Cleveland State Community College.
