Obituary
Jerry Michael Underwood, age 69, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 28, 2015. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” He was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
Jerry is preceded in death by his daughter Angela Michelle Underwood, his sister Beverly Carol Underwood, his grandparents Homer and Edith Self Underwood, his uncles Ray Underwood, Charles Underwood, and Don Underwood, and his aunt Voncile Underwood Miller.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory Sheryl Jean Swicegood Underwood, his mother Hazel Underwood Pettitt, his brothers Lanny and Les Underwood, his daughters and sons-in-law John and Hope Malone and Bob and Sherry Foster, and grandchildren Charlie and Brittany Gosnell, Haley Witt Malone, Michael Forster, Jonathan Forster, and Isaac Forster, niece and nephew Tony and April Underwood and many extended cousins.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 3:00PM at the Athens Free Saints Holiness Church located on Slack Road.
