Jamie Hargis

July 1, 1959 — December 25, 2018

Jamie Hargis, 59, passed away on December 25, 2018.
She was born in Knoxville, TN and graduated in 1977 from Halls High School, and then the Tennessee School of Beauty. For the past several years she has enjoyed living in Cleveland and researching her ancestry, which dates back to the founding of Bradley County.
Jamie was a photographer, home chef, and artist. She loved collecting and refinishing antiques; gardening; and was an expert on classic scary movies. She was a lifelong Democrat, holding several offices in the local women’s organization; and she worked selflessly to help others in need.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie May Lewis Hargis, a graduate of Knoxville Business College, and father, Edward Howard Hargis, WWII US Navy veteran; grandmother, Flossie Lester Lewis, and grandfather, Bernard B. Lewis all of Knoxville, TN.
Jamie is survived by three children, Beverly Lakin, Joshua Lakin and Daniel Lakin, one grandchild, Oliver Lakin, and two brothers, William Allen Hargis and Lewis Howard Hargis all of Knoxville, TN; nieces and nephews; and her partner, Angela Minor of Cleveland, TN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or Hospice of Chattanooga.
A graveside service will be held at Lee Cemetery in McDonald, TN on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 4PM. Arrangements by Companion Funeral & Cremation Service, Cleveland, TN.
