James Y. Davis

James (“Jay”, “Jim”) Y. Davis passed away October 30, 2021 at the age of 94.
Jay was born in 1927 in NE Tennessee. Soon after graduating from high school he visited his sister who lived Charlotte. On a whim he applied for a job at a local company. He was hired which kept him in Charlotte and began a career that spanned 35+ years.
Early in his career Jay met the love of his life, Dorothy(“Dot”) Stillwell. They were married in 1954 and were active members of the Charlotte SDA church.
Jay loved country music an enjoyed playing with anyone who had an instrument. He also enjoyed gardening and just being outdoors.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Swanson (Maurice Swanson); a granddaughter, Jennifer Bormann (John Bormann); a grandson, Bryan Weyler; a great grandson, Chris Carroll; a great granddaughter, McKayla Bormann as well as several nieces and nephews.
Honoring the deceased’s wishes there will be a graveside service at 1:00pm on Thursday November 3rd at Gilead ARP Presbyterian Church located at 15303 Beaties Ford Road, Huntersville, NC.
