Obituary

James Jay McCabe, 63, of Benton, Tennessee passed away on July 26 at Athens Star Regional Medical Hospital. James was born in Chattanooga, TN to the late James Payne and Nanabell Green Payne. He was a proud Marine who served during the Vietnam War. Mr. James was a relocation engineer, who worked a lot with his hands. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved being in nature. He also enjoyed shooting and was an accurate marksman. But the most important part of his life was his family. He was the idol of his family and as much as he loved them, he was given it in return.

He is survived by his little darling Sheila; married a week short of 20years, one son Heath Payne, one daughter; Yvette Thomas, one brother; James Bo Payne, two sisters; Jody Forrester and Connie Patterson, three grandchildren; William, Natalie, and Sophia Thomas and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held in Chattanooga National Cemetery on Friday, July 31st, 2015 at 11:30am.

The Family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and staff at Athens Star Regional Medical Hospital and his church family who has been a big support.

You are encouraged to share a memory of James and/or your personal condolences with his family by visiting his memorial web page and guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com.
