James Joseph Weyler

June 21, 1947 — December 11, 2017

James (Jim) J. M. Weyler, 70 of Cleveland, TN, passed away Monday December 11th at Erlanger Hospital after a few months of declining health following years of cardiac and related illnesses.

Jim was born in June 1947 in Chattanooga, Tn. He graduated from Kirkman Technical High School and attended Chattanooga State Community College, where he received his Associate in Engineering. He remained in the Chattanooga area his entire life to work and raise his family.

Jim was an enthusiast of antique, classic and muscle cars and other collectibles. Many lasting friendships were created during his searches and he will be greatly missed by those he met.

Jim was employed as an Engineer at the Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Bureau for 40+ years and was still employed there at the time of his death.

Jim will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son, Bryan Weyler; daughter, Jennifer Bormann (John), their mother Debbie Swanson and his grandchildren, Chris and McKayla. As well as his nieces and nephews; Debra Zimmerman (Frank), David Weyler (Kathy), Mike Weyler (Tina), Robert Weyler (Judy), John Weyler (Cindy), their mother Jean Weyler and his great-nieces and great-nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Weyler; brothers Jack Weyler and Leroy Weyler and niece Lynn Weyler.

The family requests that anyone wishing to honor Jim do so by donating to his favorite charity, the Salvation Army or an organization of their choice.
