James "Jim" A. Hixson

James A. “Jim” Hixon, 87, resident of Cleveland, departed from a local healthcare facility for his heavenly home on December 17, 2020. Jim, known by many as Unc, was born on January 12, 1933 in Chattanooga TN, to the late Nevan and Willia Mae Hixson.
Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Bowater Paper Mill after 35 years of service. Jim lived life to the fullest and had many interests. In his younger days he held the State of Tennessee (water ski) jumping record; he loved to travel, ride motorcycles, square dance, and fish. Jim was also proud of his pilots license and his plane, N9364Juliet.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Garrett.
He is survived by his sister Mary Ellen Sevener (Florida) and many loving nieces and nephews, along with his two closest friends, Janice Allen and Raymond Swafford.
If you knew Jim Hixson, you knew one of the greatest men who has ever walked this earth. He will be missed by so many.
