James Garrett Hendren, 77, of Ocoee, TN passed away on Friday evening, March 5, 2021 at his home. He was born in Knoxville, TN on May 28, 1943 and was a graduate of Old South High School. He was retired from IBEW Local 175, Chattanooga as an Electrical Test Technician at Nuclear Plant Refueling Shutdowns. He was a member of Cleveland Lodge 134 F&AM Cleveland and A&A Scottish Rite of Chattanooga. After his retirement, he owned and operated Lamps & Things shop in Cleveland and enjoyed meeting and serving his patrons. His hobbies became procuring and restoring Antique Lamps. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents James Jefferson Hendren and Margaret Elanor Messer Hendren Varner, and son Travis Enriques Rogers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Donna Veon Enriques Hendren; children Jason Douglas Hendren and wife Christine, of Viera, FL, Sonya Reeder and husband David of Longview, TX; grandchildren Garrett and Olivia Hendren, Chase, Abbie, and Ethan Reeder, Ronnie Blake Rogers and Kalee Rogers; and aunt Biller Varner; and special friend Michelle Cheatham.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday March 10, 2021 at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home with a celebration of Jim’s life to follow at 7:00pm with Pastor Ray Cheatham officiating.
