James Edward Rhoades

James Edward Rhoades, 80, of Cleveland, TN passed away on March 21, 2023. He was born on December 27, 1942 to the late Ed Rhoades Jr. and Elsie Lucille Greene. He retired from McKee Bakery after many years of service. James was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a “jack of all trades” who could work on just about anything. James was a devoted man of God who loved speaking with others about his faith.

In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his sister Della Mae Jackson; brother Allen Ray Rhoades Sr.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: James Richard Rhoades (Debbie), Donna Kay Wilbanks (Michael), James Timothy Rhoades, Melissa Anne Ross (Michael); siblings: Judy Ann Mayrose (Rick), Emma Holt (Dave), Sandy Reed (John), Doug Rhoades (Nita), and Jeffrey Rhoades; grandchildren: Michael Preston Rhoades (Zaidy), Mark Shannon Rhoades (Lacey), Tiffany Nicole Buchtel (Harley), Austin Paul Arp (Kate), Talesha Haley White (Casey); six great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

James’ family will receive friends from 12pm until 7pm on Saturday March 25th at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home and from 11am until 2pm on Sunday March 26th at the funeral home. A celebration of James’ life will be held at 2pm on Sunday following visitation with Rev. Ken Eledge officiating. He will be laid to rest at Varner Cemetery in Soddy Daisy, TN following the service.
