James Edward Burdick Sr.

James Edward Burdick Sr., 77, a resident of Etowah, TN departed this life on October 2, 2021. He was born on January 17, 1944 in Oswego, New York to the late Robert and Dorothy Burdick. James was an active member of New Zion Baptist Church in Athens, TN. He also served his country in the United States Navy. James was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Burdick and Dorothy Vickery Burdick; his siblings, Roberta Burdick and Daniel Burdick; his son, James Edward Burdick Jr.; and his wife, Carol Burdick.

Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Betty Warren and Joseph Burdick; his children, Vickie Stephens (Eric) and Jamie Elaine Laurin (John); eight grandchildren; a host of special friends; and his beloved dog “Barney”.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at New Zion Baptist Church, 393 County Road 616 Athens, TN 37303. The family is requiring that everyone please wear a mask.
