Jackie Doyle Nunley

Jackie Doyle Nunley, 76, a lifelong resident of Athens, TN passed away on Wednesday morning, December 5, 2018 at his home. He was born here in McMinn County on February 16, 1942 a son of the late Cecil & Ruby Nunley. Jackie was of the Christian faith. He was retired from Seaton Metal Company and he along with his wife Jerry owned and operated Nunley Upholstery here in Athens for many years. He enjoyed wood working and working in his yard.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son Randy Nunley and two brothers Jimmy Nunley and Danny Nunley.
Jackie leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of fifty-six years Jerry Beasley Nunley, one son and daughter in law Marty & Judy Nunley, one granddaughter Jasmine Nunley, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street with the Reverend Amos Watson will officiate. A eulogy will be given by his granddaughter Jasmine. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the 2:00 PM service time.
The interment will follow in the McMinn Memory Gardens with Mark Gilreath, Jack Baert, Raymond Brewer, Tony Hall, Jimmy Dodson and Clinton Varnadore serving as pallbearers. Junior Harrison will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
