Jack Albert Anderson

Jack Albert Anderson, a retired engineer of Bell South and resident of Philadelphia, TN, passed away unexpectedly on August 21, 2021 at the age of 74 from complications of pneumonia.

Jack is survived by his wife, Nancy Anderson; his children, Tina Brown of Doyle, TN, Tonya Delashmit of Jacksonville, FL & Matt Delashmit of Englewood, TN and Carrie Arden of Philadelphia, TN; his grandchildren, Chelsie and Caden Delashmit of Englewood, TN; Morgan Shavers, Elijah Shavers, Marley Shavers and Marie Arden of Philadelphia, TN; and Michael Brown of Doyle, TN.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents George and Dorothy Anderson of Jacksonville, FL and his sister Judy Anderson, also of Jacksonville, FL; and his son-in-law Ed Brown of Fall Creek Falls, TN.

Jack was born in Alameda, CA on January 15, 1947, but was raised in Jacksonville, FL where he graduated from Englewood High School. After high school he joined the Marine Reserves and then graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Marine Biology. He worked his entire career as an engineer for Bell South in Jacksonville, FL. In Dec 2005, he married Nancy, whom he met in Jacksonville, FL. Although Jack never had any children of his own, Nancy’s children always accepted him and felt lucky to have him as their step father.

Jack was a devoted husband, father and grandfather to the family he acquired when he married Nancy. He enjoyed sailing & boating, hot rods, tractor & car shows and collecting antique clocks and pocket watches. He loved to spend time with the kids and grandkids and always treated them as his own. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

There are no funeral arrangements. A private family memorial and cremation was Jack’s wish.
