J. Lamont Lowe

May 7, 1949 — February 13, 2022

J. “LAMONT” LOWE
On Sunday, February 13, 2022, Lamont Lowe passed away at the age of 72 in Nashville after complications from surgery.
Lamont was born in Cleveland, Tennessee where he attended Bradley Central High School and lettered in basketball and baseball. He continued his studies at Cleveland State, before he was called to serve in the Army completing two tours in Vietnam.
After returning to the U.S. he roamed the country working odd jobs and making friends along the way. Lamont could show up at a friend’s door
unannounced, stay two weeks and they would ask him did he really have to leave so soon?
When he returned to Cleveland, he worked building cabinets with his father, Roy and finally took over the business.
In retirement Lamont worked at a golf course part time, so he could play more often. He had a great love for the game and the time with his friends. He arranged a weekly luncheon so even when the weather prevented their game – they all stayed in touch. He also worked for the Polk County News.
When asked to describe Lamont, friends would say “one of a kind”. He was special but so are those friends that loved him, too many to list, but they know who they are. His “superpower” was always understanding people and to point out the positive.
He was preceded in death by his father Roy Lowe and mother Dorothy Kelly Lowe.
Lamont is survived by his loving wife Patti (Witt) Lowe of 31 years. Sons Jeff (Sally) Lowe, Josh and Jeremy Poston. Granddaughters Gabby and Ansley Poston; whom he adored. His brother Shane (Brenda) Lowe. Brother-in-laws Gary (Charlotte) Witt and Mickey (Sue) Witt. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Special thanks to Companion Funeral who was our guide during an unexpected time.
In memory of Lamont; condolences and contributions can be sent to the family to Patti Lowe, P.O. Box 231, Old Fort TN 37362 or an organization of your choice.

Lamont requested no formal services, asking only that we go outside on the next sunny day and look at the chemtrails and think of him…OVER.
