J. C. Boggess

J. C. Boggess, 80, a lifelong resident of McMinn County went to his Heavenly home on Monday evening, February 7, 2022 in a local hospital. He was born in Athens, TN on October 23, 1941 a son of the late Cam & Arie Emmel Boggess. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. J. C. enjoyed camping and fishing, but most of spending time with his family and church family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Betty, eight siblings Ruby, Mary, Patsy, Emma, Faye, Ross, Roy and Ray and one infant grandchild.
J. C. leaves behind to cherish his memory five children, Teresa Hester (George), Connie Robinson (Will), Jamie Boggess, Ricky Boggess and Willie Boggess (Alisha), eight siblings Ivie Hall, Ruth Bowers, Lloyd Boggess (Judy), Floyd Boggess (Geraldine), Pauline Hickman (Randy), Margie Caraway (Allen), Bobby Boggess and Jamie Boggess (Christy), ten grandchildren including special granddaughter and caregiver Danielle Cronan, numerous great grandchildren, numerous other extended family members, church family and special friends.
A service celebrating his life is planned for Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 7:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church located at 115 County Road 78 in Riceville, TN with the Reverend Alex Cain and the Reverend Floyd Boggess officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time on Thursday.
The interment and committal service will take place on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Clearwater Baptist Church Cemetery with family friends serving as pallbearers. Special friend and honorary pallbearer will be George.
