Ilse Gentry

On Saturday, February 19th 2022, Ilse Gentry passed away at the age of 85 while a resident of Lifecare Center of Collegedale TN. Ilse was born in Germany on March 12th of 1936 to August and Louise Eibelhauser. She came to the United States as the military wife of Donald R. Gentry in 1960. Ilse received her citizenship in 1966 while living in Fairbanks, AK. In 1969, Ilse and her family moved to Cleveland Tennessee, where it had been her permanent residence until such a time where she needed skilled nursing care.

Ilse will be remembered by her family and friends for her love of animals, (especially cats). Her German recipes and pastries.......particularly the schnitzel, dumplings, tortes and strudels are worth remembering. Ilse loved to dance, and she enjoyed the company of her friends and family. Ilse was considered by many as one of a kind.

Ilse was preceded in death by her parents, August and Louise Eibelhauser and her older brother Heinz Eibelhauser.

Ilse is survived by her daughter, Cornelia (Connie) Gentry Toney (William) and her son Michael R. Gentry. Granddaughter Christa L. Toney Haney (Anthony).
Great Granddaughters, Lauren Camile Smalley and Madison Claire Jefferson.
Ilse has many nieces and nephews, as well as her remaining family in Germany.

The family will hold a private memorial service to be scheduled in the future.
