Obituary

Harvey James Wipperman, age 86, passed away at Bradley Heath Care September 3, 2015. He was born in Hammond, IN to the late Fred and Mable Wipperman. Harvey grew up and built a life for his family in Michigan City, IN until he retired to Tennessee. He was with State Farm for 38 years, 18 years as an adjuster and retired after 20 years as an agent. Harvey was also a 32nd degree Mason in Michigan City.

Harvey was a man of many talents. Harvey was an avid hunter, who always had fresh meat brought home to his family. He was very calculated when he did go hunting. Harvey made sure everything was planned out and prepared. He enjoyed hunting, shooting, reloading, traveling, taking long drives, boating and going on his hunting trips. His family remembered him as a master fixer, too. If he couldnt find a part to something he would just engineer a new part of his own design. Harvey never met a stranger and people liked him everywhere he went. He would help anyone in need and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Along with his parents, Harvey is preceded in death by his brother, Roy and wife Ramona Wipperman.

Harvey leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Dorothy L. Barnhart Wipperman; one son, David Lee Wipperman; one daughter, Nancy Kay Hecker and husband Robert; four grandchildren, Emily Newberry, Michelle Davis, Melissa Hecker and Michael Hecker; two great-grandchildren, Lyric Newberry and Aria Davis; and four nephews, Lloyd, Bryan, Carl and Duane Wipperman.



Graveside services will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Michigan City, IN Friday, September 11th, 2015 at 2:00pm with Father John Schramm officiating.
