Obituary

Harold Wilburt Griffin Jr., 88, of Cleveland, TN passed away on April 2, 2015. He was born on September 6, 1926 to the late Harold W. Griffin Sr. and Cora M. Turner Griffin. Will was retired from the US Navy after 21 years of service. He had lived in this area for more than ten years after moving here from Florida. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Will was also a member of the VFW, Fleet Reserve Association, American Legion, Senior Circle and the Senior Center.

In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by stepson Mark Hazlett, daughter Deborah Griffin, and two siblings.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 27 years Alice Griffin, four daughters Virginia Carnegie (Earl), Sila Argyle (Dale), Lamar Griffis, and Betty Powell (Wayne); three sons Harold Griffin (Gloria), Randy Griffin, Steven Griffin (Deborah); two stepsons Thomas Hazlett (Rhonda) and Timothy Hazlett (Lori). In addition to these, he leaves behind numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren and several other extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on Sunday April 12, 2015 at 2:00pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in his name to Wesley Memorial United Methodist.
