Geraldine Purdie

Geraldine Mason Purdie, 82, of the Lamontville Community passed away at home on Saturday, March 16, 2019. She was born on August 12, 1936. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Malcolm (Mack) Ford Purdie, who passed away on March 8, 2019; her daughter Cynthia Darlene Matthews; her parents Buford and Ressie (Gibson) Mason, her sister Geneva McConnell, and two brothers Herchel Mason and Buddie Mason.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons Bryan and his wife Nell, Kenneth and his wife Loretta, Sid and his wife Terri, JB and his wife Tina, and Alan and his wife Pam. She also had many grand-children and extended family members and friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Sunday, March 24, at 4:00 PM at Short Creek Baptist Church, Athens, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the 4:00 PM service.
