George Thomas Sherlin

George Thomas Sherlin, 81, resident of McDonald passed away in a Chattanooga Hospital on Friday, November 6, 2020. George was born in Cleveland TN on November 11, 1938 to the late Bob and Virgie Sherlin.
He is a lifelong resident of this area and he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Candies Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, gardening and sitting by the firepit.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings Herbert Sherlin, Deward Sherlin and Josephine Childs.
Those left behind to cherish his memory is his daughter Meralla Sharp and husband Mickey, son George Sherlin Jr. and wife Rachel, grandchildren, Labron Sharp, Angel Libbey and four great grandchildren, two brothers Ed Sherlin and Harley Sherlin as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will hold a Military service outside at Candies Creek Baptist Church graveyard on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 5:00 pm. Social Distancing will be observed. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in honor of George Sherlin to the American Heart Association and/or to Arms of Hope Children’s Home.
